Intriguing, I'm not entirely sure why eBay are creating a 'shopping community' when surely their own Marketplace is a ready-made shopping community?

eBay CS and T&S support people are notorious for their index card responses. It isn't new and I've yet to see any acknowledgement from any eBay staff member that they are working to improve on this. Are eBay employing agency or temp staff as their first tier support workers?

Thank you for highlighting this. It is not a new problem. Unsurprisingly eBay's communication system with T & S suffers from the same issues as customer service. This is the system sellers will soon be compelled to use to service THEIR customers, the all important buyers. Is anybody thinking in San Jose?

Thanks for following up and echoing my sentiments about the communications problems with eBay. We appreciate your and all of your readers (and Radio Show listeners) support.
Hopefully someone at eBay will understand that living in the lurch, with no information is an impossible situation for small businesses trying to explore the opportunities eBay wishes to present them.
Trust & Safety is an oxymoron in most peoples eyes and it will remain so until someone at eBay cleans up the communications situation.

Hey, sorry for the "fat" fingers in my first comment typing errors. :)

In addition, www.onlineauction.com reminds me of what eBay was when they first started. The OLA site will soon be SEO friendly for search spiders to crawl their site. Many eBayers have already made the move, so please go on over & have fun hunting. Sellers, give them some spider food. :) They have over 14 million items for sale now & growing. They just need more targeted traffic, which will come. They are a good company with strong leadership.

eBay simply wants to be retail oriented, which does not necessarily include the auction format. So PLEASE be smart in your selling format decisions. Happy selling & happy hunting.

Bryan Burke of the eBay Feedback Division, told me personally, eBay was not doing away with auctions. That comment was backed up by Griff, who was also in attendance. These people hve lied to us, even after a promise not to lie to our group.

Theye each agreed eBay's face was going to change drmatically very soon & we will not recognize their site. They also toldall of us, eBay was NOT trying to eliminate the "little guy" from their site. Simply more lies. This will proove itself this weekend at eBay Live.

eBay Live is nothing we will ever be part of. It is their way of making a news splash & to offend the small sellers again. I would think the eBay founder is enraged, yet he did get his money, so he probably doesn't care either. The small seller make the eBay of today what it is & they go & eliminate us from the action, just for the money.

None of us have any respect left for eBay nor their employees, especially management and the stockholders who let them get away with this and other bad decisions.

I'll bet some eBay employees have their resumes out by now.

eBay management style is that of a backstabber, even while looking you in the eye!

iBusinessLogic.com must have a great web design department, I have not had a quote for less than $1500.00

Yeah, the prices on the LEFT coast are way outa wack! I was using the average prices for this article.

The exodus from eBay has begun, but the jury is still out as to who will emerge the front runner. eCrater and Onlineauction.com seem to be leading at this point.
