Onlineauction.com Supporters To Hold Rummage Sale May 1st

What started out as a suggestion on the Onlineauction.com website forum has grown into a huge grassroots effort to bring attention to the up and coming internet auction site. Onlineauction.com seller, Karen, known as Callmemomo, took up the reins, after another seller brought up the suggestion, and now over 275 sellers on the site have signed up to participate in the sale.

The week long rummage sale is being conducted to bring new buyers and sellers, and draw attention to the onlineauction.com site. As many e-commerce marketers are looking for additional auction venues to market their products, the organizers hope to show their passion and determination to make Onlineauction.com the premiere auction format site. Sellers participating in the Rummage Sale, agree to list at least 10 items in auction format, with a starting price of no more than $0.99. Onlineauction staff and management though not organizing the promotion, are as you would expect, delighted with the promotion. Chris Fain, CEO of Onlineauction.com said during an interview Saturday on our program, ebay & Beyond: Basics to Business, "Everybody is joining together to help build this site and we are just so excited"

Also during the program, our regular guest Scott Pooler from Allbusinessauctions.com suggested that participants of the Rummage Sale might want to consider blogging as a way to promote the event. To no one's surprise, within hours, Karen had her FIRST blog up and running!

Many members of the site are promoting the sale through emails, newspaper ads, and now blogs. We enjoy seeing the passion and enthusiastic contributions made by the sellers on the site.

I realize that some 300 sellers are not huge numbers, but with the continued grassroots efforts these sellers put forward, it certainly is promising, and they are already talking about a Christmas in July sales event to continue bringing attention to the site!
