eBay Says "Get Out" to Sellers of Digitally Delivered Media

Several sellers on eBay are reporting that their listings of digital media such as eBooks, graphic designs, logos, templates and websites, coupons and any products that are delivered digitally were removed yesterday. eBay sent emails to these sellers stating these listings violated the Feedback Manipulation policy. This action was supposedly taken BEFORE Brian Burkes announcement that beginning March 31st any digitally delivered product would have to be listed in the Classified Ad format. Sellers are posting in the eBay discussion threads that when they contacted Customer Service, the CS reps did not know of this policy change.

It would seem that just as Lorrie Norrington stated in the last TownHall meeting broadcast, eBay is making changes faster than they can keep up with! Policies are being implemented without passing the info to CS or PowerSeller Reps.

It would appear that eBay is making more and more previously unannounced changes to the site that will effect hundreds of businesses. I have sent an email to eBay requesting comment on this issue, but so far have not received a response.

As eBay makes more and more changes, sellers are searching for new marketing channels. It would seem that sites that make the move to cater to these displaced sellers will have a decided advantage.

Let us know how you feel about these and any of the changes going on at eBay! Leave a comment and be sure to listen to our weekly live call in internet radio program ebay & Beyond: Basics to Business every Saturday morning from 10 AM to Noon ET by going to www.basicstobusiness.com.
