eBay Testing New View Item Page

eBay began testing a new "View Item" page on the site within the past few days. The new page appears to be in modules, and is somewhat disjointed in my opinion.

Below is a section or module of the new page view and as you can see, eBay has pointed out that in their opinion, the seller has low Detailed Seller Ratings (DSR's) in the Shipping Time category. It is important to note that in eBay's own explanation of the DSR's, a 4 indicates Quick Shipping.

Apparently eBay has decided that anything less than a "5" in the DSR's is an indication of buyer "dissatisfaction". In addition according the the Feedback Overview page on eBay it says "Detailed seller ratings do not impact the overall Feedback Score." which is not exactly true. It is true that the DSR's do not directly effect the sellers Feedback percentage rating. What is not true is that eBay uses the DSR's in combination with the Feedback percentage rating to determine whether a seller achieves PowerSeller status, and in turn whether the seller qualifies for the announced Best Seller discounts. It also uses the DSR's in determining BEST MATCH placement in the search algorithm.

This change in combination with the other announced changes on the site has given rise to a very loud cry from sellers on the site.
