eBay Needs To Create A New "Customer" Experience For Both Buyers And Sellers
The recent changes announced by eBay are being implemented to create a better "Buyer" experience on the site. I think eBay has missed the boat in this initiative. eBay claims to want to weed out the "bad Sellers" and reward the "best Sellers".
I think eBay needs to totally revamp their process of registering users. Both buyers and sellers need to be ID verified. The site needs to require immediate payment by credit card or EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) on ALL transactions, no matter what selling format is used. Few e-commerce sites allow buyers to purchase an item without immediate payment.
On the personal side of this, I as a seller on eBay have had more BAD BUYERS in the past 3 months than I have had in the past 9 years! These situations range from buyers not paying, to buyers wanting to change the shipping costs AFTER buying the item, to buyers who do not read the auction or BIN listing to understand the payment process, and finally buyers who claim the description does not match the item received and demand refunds prior to shipping the item back. If this was just a single event, it would be different, but this has happened almost once a week.
I feel eBay needs to implement a process by which both Buyers and Sellers are required to go through some sort of tutorial prior to buying or selling on the site.
In light of the announced eBay changes, as I be moving my sales to my website and other venues.
